| For readers not familiar with the boat, here are excerpts from the Carver
brochure with a photo and description of the arrangement and equipment, plus
some interior photos of my own. ‘Souvenir’ is a 2001 Carver 506 Motor Yacht. It was purchased new in January of 2002, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. This vessel is a hard enclosed, Command Bridge and Aft. Deck Motor Yacht with three staterooms, and three heads. The design offers spacious living, with a great room that encompasses the saloon, galley and dining area. It offers three main levels, the fly bridge, aft deck, and cabin; all can be fully air-conditioned, heated, and enclosed. On the bridge, there’s a wet bar with refrigerator and ice maker, and comfortable seating for captain and guests, including an L-shaped lounge aft and a doublewide lounge on the starboard side. The hardtop with its retractable sunroof spans the entire bridge and aft deck. Cherry wood cabinetry and trim highlight the great room, including the fully equipped galley and dining area. The galley includes a microwave oven, three-burner electric range, refrigerator, separate freezer, ‘Karadon' counter tops, trash compactor, and plenty of storage. The master stateroom features a queen-sized island berth, with private head, tub, stall shower and vanity, each in separate compartments. The forward stateroom features a queen-size island berth, private head with separate shower stall, and generous storage including cedar-lined hanging lockers. A third stateroom provides two single berths which convert to a queen-size berth, hanging storage and private head compartment with shower and vanity, and a washer and dryer. The electronics include, Radar, GPS Chart-plotter, autopilot, and VHF Radio. The following are the Specs:
